Judith Kerr Free School

Kinetic Engineers worked with Bull Building Services to design the Mechanical and Electrical services to the new Judith Kerr Primary School in Southwark, London to very tight and demanding timescales and budgets through the recent summer holidays.

Judith Kerr Primary School is the very first bilingual free school to open in London and is an all-ability school teaching children aged 4-11 in English and German.

The services designed and installed included a modern IT infrastructure, high quality lighting, an extensive power system, efficient space heating and a central ventilation system. Kinetic worked very closely with Bull Building Services to design the systems in an efficient manner to ensure the challenging installation period could be achieved through the summer recess. The school opened on time and to everyone’s satisfaction.

The school is named after Judith Kerr, OBE, who was born in Berlin but came to live and work in England with her family after they escaped the Nazi’s. Judith Kerr is a famed author who has sold over 9 million copies of her books and is now the patron of the school.

The interest was such that the school featured on BBC News London to announce its opening. The link to the programme is given here:-
