Directly through the directors involvement with Sir Robert Mcalpine on a previous project, Kinetic Engineers Ltd were appointed as a commissioning manager on this large scale Building Schools for the Future scheme directly by the contractor. As part of our appointment we were responsible for witnessing of all M & E services along with site snagging and reporting.
Within our scope we undertook weekly site reports during construction. Effectively our role was to simulate the visits the Newcastle City Clerk of Works would undertake in an effort to help streamline the snagging and witnessing when the City Clerk of Works visited site. The feedback from the City Clerk of works was positive and Sir Robert Mcalpine were appointed to undertake the second phase of schools.

Gateshead college is one of the largest further education colleges in the area with a campus spread across 4 separate sites.
The construction skills centre was an existing site that the directors of Kinetic were previously involved with. This new development includes the ‘hub’ building, a new build two storey teaching and staff facility comprising of classrooms, library, cafe and gymnasium as well as ancillary rooms.
Kinetic Engineers Ltd were appointed to undertake full performance duties as the clients retained M & E consultant.
Project completion expected mid 2011.
