St Andrew’s Church is situated in the picturesque village of Hartburn, Northumberland.
Dating back to the 11th Century, a former Knight Templar Church, St Andrew’s has played a significant part in church history including being the resting place of Oliver Cromwell’s money box.
Working alongside the Architect Spence and Dower, Kinetic were appointed by Hartburn PCC to provide M&E design consultancy for the refurbishment of the Grade 1 listed Church including the refurbishment of the existing heating and lighting systems. Initial feasibility studies were carried out looking at the potential options for the heating system refurbishment which included the incorporation of underfloor heating and ground source heat pumps.

Through our ongoing relationship with Spence and Dower, Kinetic were appointed to undertake the traditional M & E design of this church refurbishment and extension on behalf of the local diocese.
The client’s commitment to renewable technologies allowed us to undertake National Lottery grant applications and assist in the procurement of ground source heat pumps. A specialist church lighting system was installed to the Church hall as well as other M & E services.
